Terms of Use
Version 2026-10-20-v4
1. Who we are and governing law
The Zelo software application and platform (the "Service") are operated by ByteSense, run by a sole trader resident in Ireland. Contact regarding these Terms: privacy@zelo.ie. These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them, are governed by the laws of Ireland. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.
2. The customer account and authority
By creating an account on behalf of a cleaning company (the "Customer"), the individual user confirms they have the authority to bind that company to these Terms. The Customer is fully responsible for all data entered into the Service and for the actions of the people it registers.
3. One login per person
Access to the Service is provided on a strict per-person basis. Sharing a single login between several people is not allowed, including to lower the subscription price. • Usage indicator: the operator's administration area ("superadmin") shows, for each company, the number of completed visits per login in the last 30 days. • Suspension: if shared use or abuse of a login is identified through this indicator or other manual checks, we may suspend the account. • Everyone registered: the Customer must register in Zelo, each with their own login, every person who performs the services recorded in the Service (for example, every member of a team on a visit). We may review usage and, if people are working without being registered, adjust billing to the actual number of people, with prior notice.
4. Free trial, plans and payment
• Free trial: a new account starts on a free trial for the period shown at sign-up. No card is needed to try Zelo. • Plans: public plans and prices are shown at zelo.ie and on Zelo's Subscription screen. A negotiated (private) plan applies as agreed with the operator and may have a people limit. All plans are monthly. • Price per person: each plan has a monthly price with a number of people included and a price for each additional person. Every active staff member with access to Zelo counts as a person. Each invoice uses the highest number of active people in the month; anyone deactivated stops counting from the following invoice, with no pro-rata refund. A plan change applies from the next invoice. • VAT: prices are shown excluding VAT; the applicable VAT is added at payment. • Payment through Stripe: subscriptions are sold and billed by Stripe as merchant of record, through Stripe Managed Payments, with payment through Link. Stripe calculates and collects VAT and issues receipts; bank statements show "LINK.COM*". Stripe's and Link's terms apply to the payment. Zelo never receives or stores card details. • If you subscribe during the trial, the first monthly payment is only taken when the trial ends. The subscription renews every month until cancelled. • One-off charges: a setup fee or another separately agreed service is charged through a separate payment link, always disclosed in advance.
5. Non-payment, price changes and cancellation
• Trial ended without a subscription: the account gets 3 days of grace and then becomes read-only. • Failed payment: Stripe retries the charge for about two weeks; during that time Zelo works normally, with a notice on the dashboard. If the retries fail, the account becomes read-only. • Read-only: the office can view data and pay, but cannot create or change anything; the team keeps checking in, checking out and doing their tasks. After 30 days in read-only mode the account is suspended: nobody from the company can sign in, and the data is kept. Once payment is sorted, access comes back. • Cancellation: the Customer may cancel the subscription at any time through the Stripe/Link link sent by email. Access continues until the end of the period already paid, and the account is then suspended, with no refund for the current month. Account closure and data deletion follow the Privacy Policy. • Price changes: we give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of a plan in use.
6. Acceptable use
The Customer and its users shall not use Zelo for unlawful purposes, try to get around technical limits, probe the database row-level security isolation or access data belonging to other companies.
7. Data protection
The Customer is the data controller for the personal data it enters (its clients, staff and visits). ByteSense acts as data processor under the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and the Privacy Policy.
8. Physical access data and limitation of liability
• Confidential access information: the Service allows the entry of access instructions and alarm or key-safe codes, visible to the assigned cleaning team only within a limited time window around the scheduled visit. The Customer should be careful and avoid entering unnecessary security details. • Limitation of liability: Zelo is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteSense's liability is limited to the amount the Customer paid in the twelve (12) months before the event. For accounts on a free trial or where no fees have been paid, ByteSense's maximum aggregate liability is €100.00.
9. Changes to these Terms
We will give advance notice of material changes to these Terms before they take effect.
